About Dr. Janina Kaczmarczyk..
Dr Janina is an Australian hepatobiliary and general surgeon based in Adelaide, with internationally recognised training in minimally invasive liver, pancreas and biliary surgery.
She holds appointments as a Staff Specialist Hepatobiliary and Liver Transplant Surgeon at Flinders Medical Centre, and consults privately at Ashford and Flinders Private Hospitals as part of Adelaide Liver, Biliary and Pancreatic Specialists (ALBPS).
Training
After completing a science degree at the University of Maryland and her MBBS at the University of Sydney in 2005, Dr Janina trained across Australia, the United Kingdom and France. She gained her FRACS in General Surgery in 2017, followed by subspecialty training with the Australian and New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association.
Her fellowship in laparoscopic HPB surgery was completed at Southampton University Hospital, UK — one of the world's leading centres for keyhole liver and pancreatic surgery — alongside a University Diploma in Surgical Ultrasound at Strasbourg University, France. She also holds a Masters in Minimally Invasive Surgery from the University of Adelaide.
Approach
Dr Janina's practice focuses on minimally invasive techniques where appropriate, with an emphasis on faster recovery, clear communication, and individualised care plans developed in partnership with each patient.
